PROJECT MANAGEMENT

The main aim of this work package is to coordinate and manage the project to ensure a smooth implementation and the proper advance of the project according to the schedule, budget, objectives and expected impacts.

LOOP PROTOTYPE ADVANCED DEVELOPMENT
Start month 1 – End month 8
The objectives of this WP can be classified according to heat transfer fluid, components and operation strategies. Regarding HTF, technical guarantees of commercial ternary molten salts will be validated for long operation time (1000 h), technical specifications for commercial plants will be defined and working temperature of commercial ternary molten salts will be improved with minimum thermal degradation.
Concerning components, a detailed specification of the adjustments and modifications to be developed in the collector, tubes and in the existing loop prototype will be obtained a more reliable and cost-effective auxiliary heating system will be implemented in order to reduce the start-up times, increase the solar field availability and reduce the investment costs, and finally, a system to reduce refrigeration water consumption will be developed.
Besides, different strategies or operation modes will be designed to improve the reliability of the plant.

SYSTEM MANUFACTURING AND TESTING
Start month 4 – End month 15
The results of this WP will be to develop the detailed engineering of the adjustments in the loop prototype’s main components obtained in WP2, to manufacture and integrate the adjustments into the systems and to simulate it in order to obtain the optimum operating conditions of a plant based on ternary molten salts with a hybridization system and also its performance, power generated and basis design.

VALIDATION AT PILOT PLANT SCALE
Start month 16 – End month 21
The results of this WP will be to test the system in real generation conditions under different operational scenarios in order to know the performance and energy production of the plant. Moreover, a certification and homologation of the system to accredit the suitable performance of the system will be obtained.

COMMERCIAL SCALING UP
Start month 20 – End month 25
The objective of this WP is to develop the scaling up of the prototype system to a commercial scale and to obtain the real investment costs of a molten salt parabolic trough power plant.

BUSINESS MODEL AND EXPLOITATION
Start month 17 – End month 30
The aim of this WP is to develop selected business models and exploitation actions to establish the business case for MSLOOP, to define the commercial strategies for MSLOOP and to perform market and competition analysis.

The aim of this WP is to promote the project results in order to achieve the highest possible project impact and visibility and to assure the best information flow between the partners of the Consortium.
